Rohini K. Garg Patent Agent | Washington, D.C.
Working as an Electrical Engineer right out of college, Rohini interacted with patent attorneys who often educated scientists and engineers on how to protect their innovations under patent law. This protection of innovation intrigued Rohini. She yearned to be on the cusp of innovation and creativity and started to explore careers in patent law. Rohini then began her journey of transitioning her career from engineering to patent law.
Fast forward to the present day, Rohini is a registered patent agent with over seventeen years of patent preparation and prosecution experience in a corporation, an IP boutique firm and a general practice firm. Clients value Rohini’s extensive patent experience, gained from hundreds of matters related to the preparation of applications and prosecution of patents in the United States and internationally. Her background in electrical engineering has informed her strategic counsel in regard to a broad range of technologies, including telecommunications, computer software and hardware, semiconductors, wireless communications, cloud computing, computer-based electronic systems, mechanical devices, materials as well as related business methods and protocols.
Rohini makes a strong contribution to prosecution strategy, providing technical and legal research and analysis with respect to matters pending before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, in addition to technical support for patent interference and litigation proceedings. She also assists with the management of client patent portfolios, and offers patent analysis and legal support to licensing and merger and acquisition groups.
Before joining RatnerPrestia, Rohini held positions as a patent agent at a general firm, AT&T Corp, and as a patent examiner at the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
