It is said that intellectual property begins with an idea. Whether a large corporation or a startup business, protecting your idea is often critical to success. Rob works with clients of all sizes and experience, from consulting with inventors through application drafting and patent procurement, to obtain protection for their ideas. In the United States and abroad, Rob guides clients through the process of obtaining intellectual property protection.
Rob’s strength is rooted in his comprehensive educational background in Electrical Engineering. This allows Rob to achieve a strong understanding of a client’s technology, as well as competing state of the art technology. This fundamental understanding is critical in determining the best intellectual property strategies for his clients during both the drafting a prosecution stages of a patent application.
Dr. Esposito is a registered Patent Attorney with over nine years of experience drafting and prosecuting patent applications in the areas of Electrical and Computer technology. He has extensive patent prosecution experience in automotive and industrial control systems, wireless communication systems, global positioning systems (GPS), data encryption systems, digital imagers, wireless and landline digital networks, protocols and services, video encoding and transport protocols, and networks for access to the Internet and systems for voice telephone service over the Internet, and much more.
In addition to working directly with clients, Rob has been working directly with United States patent examiners for over nine years. Over this time, he has developed numerous successful best practices for efficiently expediting patent applications through the prosecution process. For example, Rob believes that developing an open dialog with patent examiners is crucial to efficient patent prosecution. Conversing with examiner’s either in person or via teleconference, allows Rob to use his previous experience as an Engineering lecturer to highlight important differences between new inventions and the state of the art. This technique has resulted in countless allowances for patent applications.
Rob’s fundamental goal is to provide high quality and affordable patent services for his clients.
