Karen Riesenburger Poppel is an Associate Attorney for RatnerPrestia in the Firm’s Delaware office. She represents domestic and international clients in patent and trademark litigation. Karen provides local counsel services for out of state clients before the United States District Court for the District of Delaware and concentrates her practice in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical sectors, with a focus on Abbreviated New Drug Application (“ANDA”) litigation.
Prior to practicing law, Karen earned degrees in chemistry as a result of her passion for research and discovery. She brings this same level of enthusiasm and dedication to the practice of law, utilizing her background in science to deliver informed legal representation to her clients.
Karen holds a Bachelor of Science in chemistry from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, a Master of Science in chemistry from Emory University where her graduate thesis work focused on synthetic riboswitches, and a Juris Doctor from the George Washington University Law School. While at law school, she served as a judicial extern to the Honorable John M. Facciola in the United States District Court for the District of Columbia.
