As a member of the firm’s Strategy and Risk Management Group, Mr. Koopman counsels clients on the impact of intellectual property on their businesses.  Mr. Koopman’s responsibilities range from developing comprehensive IP strategies, performing and supervising freedom to operate studies, advising clients on potential IP risks, and preparing written and oral opinions on patent infringement and invalidity.

By working in both RatnerPrestia’s Patent Group and Litigation Group in addition to Strategy and Risk Management Group, Mr. Koopman is able to consider all aspects of IP protection, and implement plans to maximize IP value over the entire life of a technology, from prosecution to enforcement/licensing.
