Philadelphia, PA | April 2019 – RP’s Dr. Ling Zhong, Ph.D. and James M. Gould presented at the I2I Patent Seminar on April 17, 2019 hosted by the Office of Technology Commercialization at Georgetown University. The presentation, “Patents: From Invention to Commercialization in the Biomedical Space,” examined the latest trends having a profound effect on critical patent issues in the biomedical space. The RatnerPrestia team discussed patentability issues associated with inventions relating to biomarkers, diagnostics, new uses of known drugs, new formulations of known drugs, new dosage regimes, and new combinations; the interplay between patent-based exclusivity and the various FDA-based exclusivities; and patent issues arising from collaboration between inventors and sponsors of clinical trials.
