Jim earned his J.D. from The George Washington University Law School and a Ph.D. from California Institute of Technology in Organic/Bio-Organic Chemistry. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts from Cornell University, where he majored in chemistry. Jim is admitted to the State Bar of Virginia and the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. He is also registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Jim is a member of the American Bar Association (ABA), American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA) and the Intellectual Property Owners Association (IPO).
