Cohen Authors Chapter on Strategic Design Protection

Valley Forge, Pa. – Joshua L. Cohen, a Shareholder of RatnerPrestia, authored a chapter for “Building Design Strategy: Using Design to Achieve Key Business Objectives,” a book co-published by Allworth Press and Design Management Institute (DMI). In Mr. Cohen’s chapter, ‘Law Meets Design: Transforming Valuable Designs into Powerful Assets,’ he introduces strategies for leveraging design innovations into long-term commercial assets. He also explains how these strategies are best integrated into design planning and development and continued throughout the full lifecycle of a product design.

Mr. Cohen concentrates his practice on developing strategies for the comprehensive protection of new product designs and the proactive management of IP-related risks. He counsels national and international corporations and design firms that seek to protect their design innovations, manage their IP-related risks, and integrate IP review into their product development processes. He is the President of the Greater Philadelphia Chapter of the Product Development and Management Association (PDMA) and a Past President of the Benjamin Franklin American Inn of Court, an organization chartered to advance excellence, ethics, and professionalism in IP law.
