Valley Forge, Pa. – Joshua L. Cohen, a Shareholder of RatnerPrestia, was invited to speak in Paris on April 14, at the International Education Conference of the Design Management Institute (DMI). In his presentation, “Sustaining the Competitive Edge of Design Innovations: Strategies for Protecting the Fruits of Design Thinking in Postmodern Organizations,” Mr. Cohen explained the growing imperative for sustaining the competitive edge of design innovations. He presented strategies for protecting designs and best practices for implementing those strategies. The paper accompanying Mr. Cohen’s presentation was selected for publication in the Conference Proceedings.
Mr. Cohen concentrates his practice on developing strategies for the comprehensive protection of new product designs and the proactive management of IP-related risks. He counsels national and international corporations and design firms that seek to protect their design innovations, manage their IP-related risks, and integrate IP review into their product development processes. He is the President of the Greater Philadelphia Chapter of the Product Development and Management Association (PDMA) and a Past President of the Benjamin Franklin American Inn of Court, an organization chartered to advance excellence, ethics, and professionalism in IP law.
