Patent ProcurementMr. Massina received a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Villanova University. For more than a decade, Mr. Massina has worked with clients in the procurement of worldwide patent protection. The procurement process is a cooperative effort in which Mr. Massina works with both inventors and business personnel to ensure a complete understanding of the technology and the client’s commercial objectives. With such an understanding, Mr. Massina assists his clients to develop a comprehensive patent portfolio designed to provide the client with a market advantage for current products while
creating a market barrier to related and emerging commercial opportunities.
Representative technologies of Mr. Massina’s practice include: automotive applications including bearings, clutches, transmissions, brake assemblies, steering assemblies and sensor bearings; material handling including screw conveyors, automated sorting machinery, indicia scanning devices and test head equipment; fluid handling including reciprocating, screw and centrifugal compressors, separators, and filtration systems; power tools including electrical and pneumatic tools; battery systems; locks including master lock systems, lock cylinders and portable lock devices; and medical devices including implants, retractable syringes, lancets and sharps disposal systems.
Mr. Massina is registered to practice before United States Patent and Trademark Office. Mr. Massina is also admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
