Mr. Massina has counseled clients ranging from sole inventors and start-up companies to Fortune 500 corporations in all aspects of intellectual property law. For each client, Mr. Massina's initial goal is to learn the client's needs and business objectives so that an appropriate intellectual property strategy may be developed.

 

With the client's objectives in mind, Mr. Massina has advised clients on the procurement and enforcement of protectable rights to gain or maintain a market advantage; the leveraging of client assets through licensing and other transactions; and the evaluation of competitor's proprietary rights to avoid market barriers and potential liabilities. Often Mr. Massina provides on-site training programs for client personnel to ensure the intellectual property strategies are understood and implemented throughout the organization.

 

Mr. Massina's patent evaluation and procurement has spanned various technologies. Representative technologies include automotive applications, material handling, fluid handling, power tools, locks and medical devices.  Mr. Massina actively communicates with the client’s technical and business personnel throughout each project to continually develop his understanding of the technology and the relationship of such technology to the client’s commercial activities.

 

Mr. Massina received a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Villanova University and his Juris Doctor from Hofstra University School of Law where he served as a research editor for the Labor Law Journal.
